Audiocube: Fresh 3D Audio Software Brings Sound to Life
Audiocube have officially released their new 3D audio design tool, aiming to give musicians, producers, and sound designers an intuitive way to build immersive environments. At its core, the software uses real-time acoustic simulation paired with HRTF (Head-Related Transfer Function) processing, recreating how our ears perceive sound in space.
I tried the software myself, and the workflow is surprisingly smooth. You start by using the browser to import your WAV files, just drag and drop them in. From there, it’s easy to create a sound in the scene and preview it with a quick tap of the spacebar. Opening the device editor lets you loop, pitch-shift, or add effects, while the timeline editor makes it simple to arrange and trigger sounds over time.
One of the most impressive things for me was the realism of the reflections and occlusion in playback. Dropping in acoustic walls to block or reflect sounds adds a level of control I haven’t seen in many other spatial tools. Once you’re ready, you can hit record, tweak effects in real time, and then export your finished mix with all spatialization baked in.
Beyond the core editing features, the package also includes a built-in mixer with EQ, compression, and spacious reverb, plus automation to move sounds dynamically through the 3D space.
Audiocube works on both Windows and macOS, and it’s priced at $49 for
